Food delivery surged by 85% between 2019 and 2021, driven by Covid-19. In 2020, 350 million meals were delivered in France, transforming consumer habits and placing new pressure on restaurants. Many struggled to meet demand efficiently, facing challenges in order management, food quality during transit, and overall logistics.

While delivery platforms simplify ordering for customers, they often overlook the critical handoff between kitchen staff and delivery drivers. This lack of coordination leads to delays, food sitting idle, and a disrupted workflow for both parties.

Box App is a smarter order management system that synchronizes kitchen workflows with delivery logistics. By providing real-time updates and clear handoff communication, our solution ensures smoother operations, fresher deliveries, and a better experience for everyone involved.

Understanding the problem

To better understand the challenges from the order preparer's perspective, we conducted a one-week design sprint. During this time, we applied a range of UX methods, such as creating personas, mapping empathy, exploring user flows, designing wireframes, and building a final prototype.

A professional platform with an intuitive approach

Considering our persona, we wanted to create more than just an application that performs tasks. We sought to craft an experience that feels natural and engaging. This involved using simple, accessible language avoiding overly casual tones.

We aimed to be supportive and present throughout the process, providing guidance without being imposing, and ensuring the user feels empowered rather than condescended to.

Throughout this project, I had the opportunity to collaborate within a team and explore variety of materials to bring a product to life from scratch.

This hands-on experience not only strengthened my teamwork skills but also broadened my perspective on design, allowing me to approach the creative process with a more holistic and innovation mindset.
